Chang Wang

Co-Founder of FMeasure Inc., Researcher

on Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing

  • I am currently running a technology startup FMeasure Inc. that extracts knowledge from both structured and unstructured data (company filings, financials, news, social media, recent funding rounds and acquisitions, etc) in real-time, and provides services to business development officers, investors, and bankers to support swift financial decision making. I am also a researcher in machine learning, data mining and natural language processing areas.
  • In 2015-2018, I was a researcher working on knowledge extraction on big data at a technology startup- Elemental Cognition and Hedge Fund Bridgewater Associates.
  • In 2010-2015, as a research staff member, I built the Information Extraction Component for Jeopardy! winning IBM “Watson” System at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.
  • Prior to joining IBM, I received Ph.D on machine learning at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I also did internship at Microsoft research (2009), IBM research (2008), and eBay research (2007) on search engine, ranking and sentiment analysis.
